How to hang curtains in a bay window

Let’s jump directly into the content.

Step – 1: Selection of Curtains Rods

Owing to the shape of the bay window it is hard to select a curtain rod. However, there is a wide range of curtains rods that you can use for your bay window depending on the opening it has. 

The first type is the Tension Curtains Rods which is suitable for a window containing three window frames in it. The second type is bay curtains rods that are specifically designed for bay windows. These rods bend easily because of their specific design and manufacturing techniques. 

The last option is to have sets of straight rods that you can use. This is suited for windows having more than 4 sections. It is easier to cover up those windows with straight rods. These straight rods are held by using brackets. 

Step – 2: Get the Tools Ready

Get ready with all of your tools prior to the actual operation. All the tools that you will need throughout the process should be ready before the start of the process. The tools you’ll need in this process include a Drill machine, a screwdriver, a set of screw and wall anchors, an Inch tape, Pencil to mark the points, and a hammer hand. 

Step – 3: Measure the Window and Curtains

Now, measure the window with the help of an Inch Tape. Leave a space of 5 inches in the upside of the window and 3 inches in the lateral sides of the window. Then mark the exact position where you want to fix the Bracket. 

Step – 4: Set-up the Brackets

With the help of Drill Machine start making a hole in the wall at the exact point you mark during the measurements. Once you get done with Drilling, place the wall anchor inside of the hole and tap it with the help of a hammer.

Step – 5: Install Curtains

Once you get done with bracket placement, start installing your curtains. Get it ready and place in the rods then hang over the brackets. 

All set, your Bay Window is covered with elegant curtains.
